Kidde KN-SMFM-i Silhouette smoke alarm is a low-profile AC / DC powered, ionization smoke alarm that operates on a 120V power source with a sealed rechargeable battery backup. This alarm uses ionization sensing technology. ionization sensor alarms can detect invisible fire particles (associated with flaming fires) before the photo-electric alarms. Photoelectric sensing alarms detect visible particles (associated with smoldering fires) before the ionization alarm.
